Please read for answers to many questions about the Avalanche Day Camp
Many people have been asking questions about the Avalanche Day Camp, I will attempt to answer these in one shot!
ALL PLAYERS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH USA HOCKEY OR THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SKATE AT CAMP! GO TO
www.http://www.usahockeyregistration.com/
ALSO PLAYERS TUITION PAYMENTS NEED TO BE UP TO DATE BEFORE THE START OF CAMP
1. The week of August 9th the teams that will be at camp are the Mite and Squirt Teams the week of August 16th will be the Peewee, Bantam and Girls Teams!
2. Camp will begin around 8:00am ( I will have specific schedule out later this week) and the kids will be ready for pick up around 3:30 to 4:00pm. The first week the Mites will go on the ice first and the parents need to make sure their players are fully dressed and ready to go on the ice before they leave! After this we will have staff that will help the kids undress and dress!
3. The snack bar will be open so players will be able to get drinks and lunch if they want to, however you can just pack your son/daughter a lunch if you want to. We will run a bank for the week for the players, this way they don't have to handle money! The parents can put money in their account on Monday morning that they can use in the snack bar. Please don't send your son/ daughter with money as we would like to eliminate any problems with kids loosing their money! At the end of the day the snack bar staff will post down stairs any kids that owe money. Lunches will change daily and I will try and get that schedule out to you before the week so you can plan if your player will eat the lunch at the snack bar or bring his own!
4. All players will need sneakers for the off ice activities! They should also bring a street hockey stick, I would hate to see players taking their game sticks outside for street hockey!
5. The players will get two ice sessions a day, the first is a skills type of session and the second is more of a team practice. We have an excellent staff set up to work the kids! We also will have Mike Muir the athletic trainer from the Manchester Monarchs working all week running the field sports and attending to any injuries that might occur! If you son/daughter has any specific needs or problems make sure that Mike is aware! Some of the instructors are:
Joe Lee- Current Assistant at Pinkerton former Plymouth State Player
Tom Nolan- Former UNH and Minor Pro All Star, currently an amateur scout for the Nashville Predators
Mike Richard- Current player at St A's, all time leading scorer at Pinkerton Academy
